** PYGMALION **
Written by: Tim Thompson
Microcomputers Magazine, December 1985
Page 102
The author chose Pygmalion as the
name for this program because it is a
self-improvement program. The
technique used is subliminal messages.
Subliminal stimulation takes place
below your state of consciousness, so
you can't actually read the messages
flashing. However, your subconscious
mind does recognize and will act on
the messages.
Don't be worried about being
programmed by the computer. You will
put your own messages into the
program, so you will always be in
charge and in control.
This program can be useful for
breaking habits or for initiating
self-improvement behavior (quitting
smoking or overeating, improving
self-confidence, etc.). Remember that
you cannot be programmed, this program
just relaxes you and displays what you
want to see.
Before running the program change
lines 10-50 to your own subliminal
messages.
When you run the program, you'll
see three additional instruction
screens and you'll be prompted to
enter an animation speed. Lower
numbers represent faster speeds.
