STARGAB
This month, Joe Garrett has
transcribed the "Arkansas Traveler"
and "Dixie" to give LOADSTAR's music a
distinctly antebellum flavor.
There is more here than meets the
eye-- or ear. Joe transcribed this
month's music with a music editor of
his own design. The music editor uses
a light pen to pick up and position
musical notes on a measure displayed
on the screen, a feature that really
facilitates the transfer of sheet
music to the computer.
Joe's music editor can play
different instruments for all three
voices and has room for over 3700
notes. And because his music player
does not take memory away from BASIC
and is interrupt driven, it can be
used to add music to any BASIC
program without affecting the way the
program performs.
At present Joe's music system is
still being developed. Our plans are
to market the system with a light pen
included. We will keep you informed
on the progress of the project.
The Commodore 64 and 128 are far
superior to any machine in their
class when it comes to sound
generation. Joe's music system
promises to open up the auditory side
of computing-- even for those of us
who have to carry our tunes in a
bucket.
