To count above ten we use the form: digit ju digit
For example: ni ju san =23
yon ju ichi =41
yon ju =40
however: ju ichi =11
Usually at a restaurant there is a cash register near the entranceway. You
will not be given a bill at the end of a meal. Instead you will merely get
up and pay at the register near the door. Your bill will be brought to the
register very quickly.
`Ikura desu ka.' means `How much does it cost?'
`Kono' means this.`Sono' is that.`Ano' is `that over there'.`Dono' is which.
For example: kono hon = this book
* but * Kore wa hon. = It is a book.
sono kohii = that coffee
Sore wa kohii = It is a coffee.
When entering a Japanese home you should remove your shoes at the door.
Many companies also have public lockers and slippers to lend at their
entrances. When you take your shoes off- leave them either in a locker
or neatly on the floor.
