Opl Assistant v2.0
Version 2.0 has some new additions from the first version. To Use Opl Assistant
make a directory on the Series 3 called \Oplhelp\ off the root directory.
Load all files into this directory. If you don't want to put the oplw.dbf file on the
same drive as the program you can put it in an \oplhelp\ directory on any drive.
In version 1.? I had more .opo files, and this got confusing and unorganized, so
I decided to put everything I could into 1 single opa, and keep all related files in
one directory. I hope this will help.
NOTE*** Delete any earlier version files of OPL Assistant
Old files are not needed any more.
Files needed:
1. Oplhelp.opa
2. Pelican&.pic
3. s3file.opo
4. Oplw.dbf
Additions:
1. Media - menu choice will report the Media type, size, bytes free, and
Volume name of any disk on thr Series 3.
2. Memory - menu choice - is a memory viewer. It will display memory
in two different formats. 1st is the traditional way.
Address: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF ........
The second method is more for reading.
Adress: - full screen - character representation only.
Both methods can print the same thing you see on the screen through the
serial or parallel port. (See menu choices while viewing. ) Open Serial-Parallel
port. When your done Use the close port menu option.
Use pull down menu's. Tab key chooses new address.
***NOTE****
Printing characters to the printer will work only with the printer set to character set #2.
(Code page 850 or US) or a character set with least # of controls
Otherwise some data will be mistaken for control codes for setting different
functions on the printer.
3. Opl commands and syntax: I decided to change the method used here for
viewing Opl commands and syntax. The library of commands are now in a
database (oplw.dbf) file. The database of commands now has definitions also.
I don't need to tell you this took hours! The beauty of the program now is that you
can edit the database from withing the program, so if you don't like my
definitions, add your own for heavens sake! Most definitions are out of the
manual, and some are my own. You may find mistakes in spelling, ( I hope you
don't) but you shouldn't find any mistakes in syntax or definitions. Let me know if you
do . (70713,1407) The nice thing is that now you can just fix them yourself.
This program is shareware . If you find you can use it, send $10 to
