  2.             Welcome to FreeVT V0.4, 24. April 1995

  5. - What is FreeVT?
  6.   FreeVT is a little project of mine. I have spend allready many hours of work
  7.   in it and will also do in the future. My goal was to write a free VT100 for
  8.   the Psion S3a series palmtops. The reason why I chose to release this as
  9.   freeware under the terms of the Gnu Copying License (see file COPYING) is
  10.   that I wanted to start more freeware programming for the S3. There is a lot
  11.   of shareware software around, but nearly no free usable programs; and never
  12.   sourcecode. I do not claim for me to be a highly qualified programmer. But
  13.   I did what was within my possibilities. Sources are included, so YOU can
  14.   have a look at them and YOU can improve whatever you dislike.
  15.   The Gnu Copying License also allows you to use the sources for whatever you
  16.   like, but you _have_ to include the used parts as sources in your product
  17.   and you have also to include a copy of the Gnu Copying License.

  19. - State of the art :-)
  20.   Have a look at the file HISTORY to get a rough overview of what FreeVT is
  21.   capabable of. There are still lot's of VT100 commands missing. But in the
  22.   current release it is allready usable for most news- and mailreaders (I'm
  23.   testing FreeVT with Linux (a free Unix-clone for 386 and compatibles) and
  24.   tin,elm,bash).

  26. - Installation
  27.   I have included, as said above, tho sourcecode "FREEVT.OPL". Just copy it
  28.   to your Psion into the \OPL\ directory and the icon "FREEVT.PIC" to the
  29.   "\OPD\" directory. Then recompile it.
  30.   You may also install the precompiled "FREEVT.OPA" by copying the OPA-file
  31.   (also included) to your \APP\ directory on your Psion.
  32.   You should also create a new directory "\FVT\" where your various settings
  33.   can be saved.
