- \z4\c7TOPIC:\q1 DOWNLOAD
-
- \z4\c7DESCRIPTION:\q1 You can choose several ways to receive files that are
- available on this system. The first way is to directly
- download the item(s). This is done by using Dx-x,x.
- The x denotes item numbers. This will automatically
- prepare the system to send the appropriate files.
-
- The second way is to mark the item to be downloaded
- later. This is done by using Mx-x,x. Again, the x
- denotes item numbers. Items will be placed on a list.
- This list can be referred to everytime you wish to
- download items (IE: "D" alone).
-
- The third way is to use "D" by itself. This will
- prompt you to enter filenames or numbers. These items
- only applies to the current area. So files in other
- areas will have to be marked before leaving that
- particular area.
-
- Choose a protocol that suits you best. Many protocols
- support batching (transfering more than one file each
- upload or download). Resume is also a good feature
- that is available on some protocols. This gives you
- the chance to "resume" a transfer if it was aborted,
- or carrier was lost. By default Zmodem is known to
- be the fastest with the best safety margin. Other
- protocols claim to be faster (Ymodem-G), but offer no
- error protection.
