This two-tiered china cabinet from the beginning of the 19th century was used to store dishes, glassware, and table linens. Usually one kept in the upper part, the things that one wished to place beyond the reach of children.
The originality of this specimen derives from the delicacy of the carving at the bottom and from the presence of floral designs cut in the centre of the panels and originally painted in a contrasting colour. Just like the vine and the pot of flowers, this floral stalk symbolizes the growth of love or the fecundity of marriage in popular tradition.
