Crippleware
The word Crippleware tells you that software
is not working. This seems to be a bad idea and
in fact it is!
Why do people create Crippleware?
Because they want to make shareware, but they
have the idea that many people don't want to
have themselves registered. So, they deliberately
create a mistake. In order to neutralize this,
you are forced to have yourself registered.
No pay, no program.
A few Crippleware examples: a game you simply
cannot win without a keyword. A database
or a processor that lacks printer facilities.
Sometimes frustrated users have themselves
registered. But in general, this is a rather nasty
business. For it's difficult enough to have programs
function commonly, without sabotage!
