  1. Crippleware

  3. The word Crippleware tells you that software
  4. is not working. This seems to be a bad idea and
  5. in fact it is!
  6.  
  7. Why do people create Crippleware?
  8.  
  9. Because they want to make shareware, but they
  10. have the idea that many people don't want to
  11. have themselves registered. So, they deliberately
  12. create a mistake. In order to neutralize this,
  13. you are forced to have yourself registered.

  15. No pay, no program.
  16.  
  17. A few Crippleware examples: a game you simply
  18. cannot win without a keyword. A database
  19. or a processor that lacks printer facilities.
  20.  
  21. Sometimes frustrated users have themselves 
  22. registered. But in general, this is a rather nasty
  23. business. For it's difficult enough to have programs
  24. function commonly, without sabotage!
