Command: Options/Loom < OL >
Purpose: Menu--Provide access to Computer-Aided-Weaving
Information:
This is the door to connecting a loom to the computer.
Comments:
Simulation mode provides an alternate pattern creation
technique usable by those without a loom connection.

Command: Options/Data < OD >
Purpose: Menu--Data switches for display and printing
Information:
Data switches affect not only displays and printouts but the
Editors as well.
Version 4.1 includes weave data in graphics printouts.
The status of all switches is saved with every weaving.
Comments:
Data switches have no affect on display graphics.

Command: Options/Title Line < OT >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control inclusion of Title Line
Information:
This switch causes the current title line to display or
print above or below the pattern draft in text mode.
Title Lines also print with graphics.
Options/Format determines the position of the Title Line.
Comments:
Use Edit/Symbols/Title Line to write the Title.
The Title Line is saved automatically whenever you save a
weaving.

Command: Options/Note Print < ON >
Purpose: SWITCH--Control printing of .PNF note file
Information:
This feature allows you to print detailed information
about a weaving along with the pattern draft.
With the switch ON, Patternland looks on the current
weaving directory for a file whose prefix matches the
current weaving filename and whose suffix is ".PNF" for
Patternland Note File. If such a file exists, Patternland
prints it after printing the weaving.
Options/Format has no affect.
Comments:
The current weaving filename is shown on Setup/View.
You can use File/Write to create a note file with the .PNF
suffix.
There is no size limit to the note file that can print,
however File/Read is limited to 300 lines.
You will need to edit your note files with a word processor
which creates "pure" ASCII files: PC-Write, Wordstar in
non-document mode, or Borland's Sidekick all work well.

Command: Options/Format < OF >
Purpose: Select one of four possible data formats
Information:
The format determines whether the threading and other warp
data are above or below the pattern draft, and whether weft
data is positioned to the left or right.
Options/Format also determines the positioning of the
Editor Windows and the placement of the number lines within
those windows.
Comments:
Four formats are possible, numbered 1 to 4.

Command: Options/Graphpaper < OG >
Purpose: MENU--Select and control graphics mode graphpaper
Information:
With Version 4.1, graphpaper background is available for
graphics modes with all printers as well as in text mode
for dot matrix printers. This menu provides control for the
graphics mode graphpaper only (text mode graphpaper is
created in 10 cpi and 10 lpi only).
24-pin printers can use an alternative automatic spacing for
grid lines: see Options/Graphpaper/Bold Mag Horizontal.
Comments:
By controlling the graphpaper spacing, you can fine tune
the overall spacing of the pattern draft.

Command: Options/Modes < OM >
Purpose: MENU--Select warp-face or weft-face weaving
Information:
Warp-face and weft-face modes combine several thread's
pattern together to create one apparent "packed" pattern
created by the colors of the column or row.
To show varying color-generated pattern, either multi-symbol
or multi-color mode must be ON. Thus, graphics printouts
are possible only with a color printer.
Comments:
Because several warp or weft threads pack together, no data
presentation is possible. Turn these switches OFF to print
an "unpacked" pattern draft with data.

Command: Options/Create Tabby < OC >
Purpose: Insert a tabby treadling into existing weft
Information:
This feature is of most use to weavers with a loom
interface, since the computer file must contain each row to
be woven.
To use the feature, first tie up two tabby treadles with the
harnesses you need for the tabby.
When you select this option, tell Patternland the range of
rows to insert tabby for. If you select 1 to the last
thread, Tabby A will become thread 1. If you select 2 to
the last thread, the tabby will begin as thread 2, etc.
Comments:
Because the tabby becomes part of the weaving, tabby rows
are counted as part of the maximum 800 weft rows allowed.
Thus if you plan to insert a tabby, you can have up to 400
pattern rows.

Command: Options/Heddle Count < OH >
Purpose: Display a count of heddles, colors, and symbols.
Information:
This feature presents a screen showing the number of
threads assigned to each possible harness, 1 to 32. This
is the count of heddles needed for each harness.
It also shows the number of threads assigned to each of the
16 possible colors and symbols for both warp and weft.
Comments:
Press the Print Screen key for a printout of the report.
(Older keyboards: press Shift PrtScr.)
