Command: Tools/Cursor < TC >
Purpose: Select Neutral or Smart Cursor Mode
Information:
When Neutral Cursor is active, you use the arrow keys or a
mouse to move the edit cursor after each input.
When Smart Cursor is active, the direction you last moved
the cursor with the arrow keys is monitored. Whenever you
input a harness, treadle, color, or symbol, the cursor is
moved in the current direction. This can be advantageous
sometimes and disconcerting at others. Special copy
functions in the Tieup and Lift Plan editors require Smart
Cursor. In these editors, an additional direction is
tracked which determines which way the cursor moves.
Smart Cursor allows you to automatically input a threading
from left to right or right to left, and moving up or down
the weft as you prefer.
Detailed information about action of the Smart Cursor can be
found by pressing the help <?> key while editing.
Comments:
Smart Cursor can also be toggled by pressing ALT S while
editing.
The status of the cursor is monitored and displayed in the
Status Line lower left if it is ON.
Smart Cursor status is also displayed in the Current Blocks
window when you press ALT B from the editor.

Command: Tools/Warp Insert < TA >
Purpose: Insert a range of new warp threads.
Information:
New threads are unthreaded, i.e., use Harness 0, and are
inserted in the color and symbol determined by the status of
the working color and symbol if ON or the current single
warp color and symbol/size 1.
After inserting threads, use the editor to create the
threading.
Comments:
You can use the INSert key to insert single threads from the
editor window.
Inserting threads increases the current warp size.
To add threads to the end of the warp, use New/Size/Warp.

Command: Tools/Weft Insert < TE >
Purpose: Insert a range of new weft threads.
Information:
New rows are "untreadled", i.e., use Harness 0 and Treadle
0, and are inserted in the color and symbol determined by
the status of the working color and symbol if ON or the
current single weft color and symbol/size 1.
After inserting threads, use the editor to create the
treadling or lift plan.
Comments:
You can use the INSert key to insert single rows from the
editor window.
Inserting threads increases the current weft size.
To add threads to the end of the weft, use New/Size/Weft.

Command: Tools/Tromp-as-Writ < TT >
Purpose: Create new weft using current tieup and threading.
Information:
Tromp-as-Writ warns you before copying the current range of
warp to create a new treadling and harness combinations.
You can choose to copy warp colors and symbols along with
the threading.
Comments:
With a one-color, one-symbol warp, you will not be able to
observe any pattern if you copy colors and symbols.
You must have previously created as many tieups as there are
harnesses in the threading.

Command: Tools/Magic Tieup < TM >
Purpose: Create a new tieup and treadling for the weaving
Information:
Light Weave executes a Magic Tieup without erasing the
current tieup every time you switch from Lift Plan (Treadle
Mode OFF) to Treadle Mode. The difference in this Magic
Tieup from the menu is that the Tieups are always erased and
recreated from scratch.
Patternland attempts to find up to 64 one-treadle tieups to
weave the current harness combinations. If your pattern
requires more than 64 treadles, no treadles will be assigned
to discrete harness combinations beyond 64.
Current Lift Plan will always remain unchanged.
Comments:
Use Magic Tieup if you have created and altered your weaving
from the Lift Plan editor and think that some tieups may no
longer be needed. Magic Tieup erases them and starts over.
Weaving to the Loom always uses the lift plan, so failure of
Magic Tieup to complete the job does not affect the ability
to weave the weaving using the CAW interface to the loom.

Command: Tools/Reverse Tieup < TR >
Purpose: Reverse the tieup and reweave the weft and draft
Information:
By reversing the tieup, each treadle lifts the opposite
group of harnesses and weaving foreground and background are
reversed.
All harness combinations are therefore reversed along with
the tieup. Patternland cautions you before completing the
task.
Comments:
This process can be reversed again, restoring the original
pattern.
Prudence would, however, have you save your weaving first.
This feature can provide the correct harness combinations
for a countermarche loom after the weaving is designed.
