Command: Edit/Weft/Edit < EEE >
Purpose: Scrollable grid-based weft editor and CAW window
Information:
This presents the weft editor window available through
Edit/Weaving. The pattern draft is also shown, but window
priority is given to the harness combinations or treadling.
All harnesses are visible with Double-Wide Mode ON or
OFF.
Edit/Weft/Treadle Mode determines whether treadles are used
or a harness combinations window.
If Options/Loom/CAWeave Editor is ON, the Computer-Aided-
Weaving window with loom pointer is also presented on
screen for either weaving to loom or simulation.
Comments:
The size of the windows is determined dynamically upon each
entry to the editor, based on the number of harnesses or
treadles in use.
If no tieups exist and Treadle Mode is ON, a tieup editor is
presented before the weft editor.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Change < EEC >
Purpose: Change weft harnesses or treadling numerically.
Information:
The current weft range determines the threads presented for
change. You can select within that range with the Up/Dn
arrow keys.
Comments:
Combined Numeric mode causes numeric color and symbol
prompts to alternate with the weft harness combination or
treadling prompts.
Display/Color Weave must be on for color number prompts.
Display/Text Options/Weft Multi-Symbol must be on for symbol
number prompts.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Repeat < EER >
Purpose: Copy a range of weft.
Information:
Weft Range does NOT affect this feature. You must provide
the source and destination locations.
Repeated weft rows can be added, inserted, or overwrite
existing rows.
Treadling and color and symbol numbers are always copied
along with the harness combinations themselves.
Comments:
There is NO undo for overwriting rows; you will be
cautioned before the feature completes the operation.
It is a good idea to save versions of your weaving as you
work, so you can undo experiments that don't work out.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Insert < EEI >
Purpose: Insert a range of new weft threads.
Information:
New rows are "untreadled", i.e., use Harness 0 and Treadle
0, and are inserted in the current single weft color and
symbol/size 1.
Use Edit/Weft/Change or Edit/Weft/Edit or Edit/Weaving to
treadle the "blank" weft.
Comments:
You can use the INSert key to insert single rows on the
grid editor.
Inserting weft rows increases the current weft size.
To add weft threads to the end of the weft, use
Edit/Weft/Size.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Delete < EED >
Purpose: Delete a range of weft threads.
Information:
Deleting weft thread rows reduces the current weft size.
Threads beyond the deleted threads are moved to close the
gap.
Comments:
You can use the DELete key to delete single rows on the
grid editor.
To remove weft rows from the end of the weaving, use
Edit/Weft/Size

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Size < EES >
Purpose: Reduce or increase weft limit; edit if increased
Information:
Similar to Insert/Delete except edited threads are at end of
weft only.
If you increase the weft limit, this feature calls one of
the the weft editors--either grid or numeric based on grid
toggle--and treadles or harnesses depending on Treadle Mode.
Comments:
The Size of a weaving is the number of threads saved to
diskette. The current weft range does not affect the
content of the file. Range is limited by Size.
The editors' Insert/Delete keys also change weaving Size.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Find and Replace < EEF >
Purpose: Change weft treadle within a weft range
Information:
Allows you to change all treadling within a specified range
from one treadle to another.
Comments:
Harness combinations are altered for affected rows based on
current tieups and treadle selected.
Colors and symbols are not changed.
You cannot Find and Replace Harness combinations. Treadle
mode has no affect on Find and Replace; Find and Replace
always uses treadles/tieups and alters harness combinations
automatically.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Exchange < EEX >
Purpose: Exchange weft treadles within a weft range
Information:
Allows you to swap two specified treadles for one another
within a specified weft range.
Comments:
Colors and symbols are not exchanged.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/Treadle Mode < EET >
Purpose: Switch--Control method of weft creation
Information:
All the grid and numeric weft editors can alter the
harness combinations themselves for each weft row or change
the combinations through the convention of treadles and
tieups.
When Treadle Mode is ON, treadles and tieups are presented;
when it is OFF, harness combinations are accessible.
Comments:
Patternland uses the harness combinations for each row to
calculate the pattern draft. Thus you are not limited by
the 64-treadle limit to 64 different harness combinations.
The number of combinations is limited solely by the 32-
harness limit--2 to the 32nd power, which works out to
something over 4 billion possible harness combinations.
When you edit treadling, Patternland alters weft harness
combinations as you go; when you edit the tieup, you are
asked for permission to change the affected weft.
The notation HC! for "Harness Combos!" appears on the
treadling editor if you have altered the harness
combinations directly (by turning Treadle Mode OFF) since
you last edited the treadle row in question. You can erase
the notation from the grid by editing the treadle and moving
the cursor over the HC!.

_______________________________________________________________
Command: Edit/Weft/New Weft < EEN >
Purpose: Erase weft harnesses, treadles, and start new weft
Information:
New Weft uses the current editing mode, grid or numeric,
controlled by Edit/Modes/Grid-Checkerboard.
Combined Numeric mode adds color and symbol prompts to
numeric weft editing.
Comments:
New Weft is like Edit/Weft/Edit or Edit/Weft/Change except
the current weft treadling, harness combinations, colors,
and symbols are erased before editing.
Weft range is reset to total weft.
Grid editing keys are displayed with the <?> help key while
editing.
