  12. Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne in Batman Returns, the summertime
  13. sequel to Tim Burton's 1989 box-office burner that blended
  14. brooding Expressionist visuals with pop-culture pizazz. Burton's
  15. satirical bent is once again in evidence as the Penguin hires
  16. image consultants and runs for mayor of Gotham City -- just when
  17. you thought it was safe to go back into the voting booth . . .
