I%2, tsp, cream of tartar
I%1, tsp, baking soda
I%1/2, tsp, salt
I%1, cup, shortening, softened at room temperature
I%1 1/2, cups, sugar
I%2, med, eggs
I%2, tsp, cinnamon

R%Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift together and stir in flour,
R%cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Chill dough. Roll into
R%balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 T. sugar and
R%2 tsp cinnamon. Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake
R%until lightly browned, but still soft. (They puff up at first, then
R%flatten out with crinkled tops.)

R%Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes approximately 4 dozen.
