Welcome to Digital Sound Player version 1.0 1/22/94
Digital Sound Player 1.0 (DSP) is a menu driven program that
plays a digital sound file on your Sound Blaster, AdLib
Personal Computer Music System, Disney Sound Source or 100%
compatibles.
This README file contains important, last minute information.
If you have a printer, please print and read the documentation
file DSP.DOC.
This program has been tested on the following:
- a 33MH 486 running DOS 6.0 with a Sound Blaster 16.
- a 25MH 386DX running MSDOS 3.3 with an AdLib.
- a 16MH 386SX running MSDOS 3.3 and PCDOS 2.1 with a
Sound Blaster 1.5 and a Disney Sound Source
We suggest you load this program to your hard disk. Digital
audio files can get very large, and loading them (and this
program) to your hard disk will improve performance. Floppy
disks do not have the throughput to sustain the 11,000 bytes
per second transfer rates required.
We are extremely interested in your constructive comments
and suggestions. Feedback from users, even negative
feedback, helps us to improve our game products. We thank
you for your interest in TAG SOFTWARE products.

INSTALLATION
DSP should be executable directly from the floppy disk.
We suggest that you make a backup copy, using your favorite
disk duplication program. We strongly suggest that you
install DSP on your hard disk. Performance is affected by
floppy drive throughput.
EXECUTING DSP FROM A FLOPPY:
1) Insert the floppy disk containing DSP into a floppy
disk drive. If this drive is the "B" drive then use "B:"
instead of "A:" in the remaining steps.
2) For systems with a Sound Blaster or AdLib, at the DOS
prompt type:
A:
DSP
For systems with a Disney Sound Source, at the DOS prompt
type:
A:
DSP -D
3) On the screen you should see the screen as described in
DSP.DOC. You should be able to play any of the supplied
sound files by using the arrow keys to move the highlight bar to
the file and typing P.
Note that we have included 4 very good sound files. You can
use DSP to play any digital sound files you may have. If
you don't have any, see our catalog (CATALOG.DOC). We have a
large selection that we can supply at a nominal price. And,
when you register you get one FREE disk from our Digital Audio
Collection Series as part of your registration bonus.
INSTALLATION TO HARD DISK:
If you have received your copy of DSP 1.0 from a disk
or rack vendor, they may have included an installation
program. If so, then follow the directions supplied therein.
Otherwise, follow these directions.
1) Insert the floppy disk containing DSP into the
floppy disk drive. If this drive is the "B" drive, use
"B:" instead of "A:" in the remaining steps.
2) You should create a directory on your hard disk. We
suggest DSP as its name. It can be on any of your
DOS disks. These procedures assume that you will install
DSP on your C: disk. If you wish to install it on
another of your disks, substitute that disk for C: in the
rest of these steps. Type the following to create the
directory.
C:
CD \
MKDIR DSP
CD DSP
3) Copy the contents of the floppy disk into the directory you
just created on your hard disk.
COPY A:*.*
4) Digital Sound Player 1.0 is now installed on your hard
disk. To complete the installation, print out the DSP.DOC
and REGISTER.DOC files.
5) For systems with a Sound Blaster or AdLib, at the DOS
prompt type:
DSP
For systems with a Disney Sound Source, at the DOS prompt
type:
DSP -D
6) On the screen you should see the screen as described in
QUICK INSTALLATION
1) Copy all the files from the floppy to a directory on your
hard disk. Print out the DSP.DOC and REGISTER.DOC
files. Remember that this program is shareware. If you
continue to use it, you are required to register it.
2) Change to the directory that you copied DSP to in
the step above. Type:
DSP (for use with a Sound Blaster or AdLib)
or
DSP -D (for use with a Disney Sound Source)
3) On the screen you should see the screen as described in
DSP.DOC. You should be able to play any of the supplied
sound files by using the arrow keys to move the highlight bar to
the file and typing P.
Note that we have included 4 very good sound files. You can
use DSP to play any digital sound files you may have. If
you don't have any, see our catalog (CATALOG.DOC). We have a
