PIV Version 1.0 13-March-1991
(c) Copyright 1991 J. E. Hanway
May be freely distributed for non-commercial purposes.
There is no warranty on this program. The author disclaims any
responsibility for damages caused by this program.
This little program replaces the familiar "Please Insert Volume FOO:"
requester with one that offers more options than just Retry or Cancel.
The replacement requester looks something like:
System Request====================[][]

Volume foo
is not mounted. You may:

[RETRY ] after inserting the volume.

[ASSIGN] the volume to [_____________]

[MOUNT ] the device.

[CANCEL] the operation.
+--------------------------------------+
The new ASSIGN and MOUNT buttons will run the CLI commands of the same
name, and a string gadget is provided for entering the directory to
be assigned.
As an added bonus, PIV keeps track of the last request that was cancelled,
so if a request for the same volume comes up immediately, PIV won't even
bother displaying the requester and will act like you just hit CANCEL
again.
INSTALLATION
Just run PIV from the CLI (or put it in your startup-sequence). It will
automatically detach itself from your CLI. To remove PIV, run it again.
NOTES
PIV is presently only useful under AmigaDOS 1.3. (It won't crash under
2.0, but 2.0 uses a different system call for System Requests, so PIV
won't have any effect.)
