COMPUTER TUTOR
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS
This system is designed to demonstrate and teach the use of the "IBM-
compatible" world of computers... those systems that are either of the IBM
brand name or designed to work exactly like the IBM line of personal
computers. These are by far the most widely used kind of small
business computers in the world. If you do not plan to use an IBM
type system, then the computer THEORY you will learn here will be
valuable for application to nearly any kind of personal computer
you may use.
As with anything of power and practical use, a computer can be
complex. Use of the computer often needs to be taught by a professional.
But it is not as difficult as everyone makes it sound. This course is
designed to make the learning process easier and more interesting.
But it will take work on your part. If this information is new to you,
you are liable to find that after a short period of time your brain will
begin to feel "crowded" with the new information. When that happens, take a
break, relax, come back later. If you are taking this course for an
"overview" of computers, don't expect to memorize everything. Just get a
general impression of what is going on. If you NEED this information for
daily use, then take notes and study those notes. Repetition of this
information is valuable.
