  4.                    MOVING FORWARD AND BACKWARD

  7.     Moving the cursor is very important, because all changes you
  8. make in a document are made at the position of the cursor.
  9.     
  10.  
  11.     Perfect Writer provides a number of versatile and efficient
  12. commands for moving the cursor.  First, there are the the ARROW
  13. keys at the right of the keyboard, which move the cursor in the
  14. direction indicated.  If held, they will repeat, skipping the
  15. cursor continuously in any direction.  Try this now; use the
  16. arrow keys to move the cursor around the text of this lesson.

  23.     While the arrow keys are often adequate, they sometimes move
  24. more slowly than we would like.  Perfect Writer provides a number
  25. of other commands for moving the cursor through your document
  26. more quickly.  These commands are available through the Forward
  27. and Backward submenus.  To view these menus, select:

  29.            Escape...Forward...Quit...Backward...Escape
  30.

  32.     Two commands that move the cursor forward or backward a WORD
  33. are: 
  34.                 Escape...Forward...Word
  35.                      Escape...Backward...Word

  37.      Practice moving the cursor back and forth across a line
  38. using these commands.

  40.     Two commands that jump the cursor to the beginning or end of
  41. the current LINE are:

  43.                  Escape...Forward...Line end
  44.                Escape...Backward...Line begin

  46.     If repeated, these commands will continue to move the cursor
  47. to the ends or beginnings of following or previous lines.

  51.     Two commands that move the cursor to the beginning and
  52. end of the current SENTENCE are:

  55.                Escape...Backward...Sentence

  57.     Practice jumping the cursor to the end and beginning of
  58. current sentences.  See how simple it is!

  63.     Perfect Writer allows you to move your cursor to the
  64. beginnings and ends of PARAGRAPHS, too, simply by selecting:

  66.                 Escape...Forward...Paragraph
  67.               Escape...Backward...Paragraph

  69.     These commands jump to the first or last character preceding
  70. or following the line break that separates two paragraphs.

  72.     The largest cursor movement is accomplished by:

  74.     Escape...Backward...Home   To BEGINNING of document
  75.     Escape...Forward...End     To END of document
  76.  
  77.     These commands will jump the cursor from anywhere in a
  78. document to the beginning or end of that document, no matter how
  79. long the document may be. Practice jumping the cursor back and
  80. forth to the beginning and end of this lesson (afterwards
  81. scrolling to this point).

  84.     This completes the lesson on Moving the Cursor.  If you
  85. would like to proceed to Lesson 3 at this time, select:

  89.      When Perfect Writer asks "Document to read," type "lesson3,"
  90. followed by the Return key.  Perfect Writer will read Lesson 3
  91. into memory and switch you to it.

  97.     IMPORTANT: Perfect Writer may respond: "Document(s) not
