  1. Firefight on the way to Dortmund

  3. The P-38 proved to be less than a 
  4. spectacular performer early on in the
  5. war and it was withdrawn from the 
  6. Northern European sectors of the 
  7. European Theater of Operations.
  8.  
  9. Later on in the war improved models of
  10. the P-38 arrived in England and once
  11. again they roamed the skies over 
  12. occupied Europe.
  13.  
  14.                 Mission Orders
  15.  
  16. You must lead your group of P-38s on an
  17. escort mission to the Dortmund oil
  18. refinery. Your group will accompany
  19. a group of B-17G bombers to their target.
  20. Your group will also be assisted by a 
  21. pair of P-47 "Jugs", so be careful at 
  22. whom you shoot.
  23.  
  24. You must help the bombers fight their
  25. way into and out of the target area. The
  26. Luftwaffe will not be lying down on this
  27. mission. You have been warned that this
  28. is going to be a tough mission and it
  29. will be no picnic.
