Aristophanes, a famous Greek
playwright, wrote that garlic juice
would restore lost virility and told
of famous athletes who used garlic as
part of their training diet. Ancient
Greeks, generally, disliked it. They
even forbid recent garlic eaters from
entering the temple of Cybele. On
the other hand, it was recommended as
a strengthener to all warriors before
going into battle.
Virgil noted that garlic
sustained the strength of the harvest
reapers.
Celsius recommended garlic as a
cure for the fever.

APHRODISIAC?
text/326 23 0 4 1
Garlic is mentioned in the Ten
Regulations of Ezra as an aphrodisiac.
Rabbis told the people to eat garlic on
their Sabbath, the night devoted to
marital enjoyment.
Anyone who practiced celibacy was
warned to never eat garlic! Certain
sexually inhibited religions forbade
the eating of garlic because of the
physical desire it creates!
Research has found that the
'decadent' Roman aristocracy used our
magic herb because of its power to
remove sexual inhibitions and maximize
their pleasure in their sexual
activities.
