BSEARCH is a FREE Bible search program. It was written under the concept that
"...freely ye have received, freely give." (Mat 10:8b). My earthly reward for
this work is the joy of knowing that I have helped others study God's word and
that God is being glorified. Any heavenly reward (though none is necessary) is,
of course, up to Jesus Christ to decide when he judges all of our works. This
program runs on any IBM PC/XT/AT or compatible PC with at least 128K of memory.
A color monitor is NOT required.
BSEARCH.EXE
-----------
This is the text search program. It allows you to enter up to twenty search
strings. All strings must appear in a verse before it will be displayed. This
is helpful when you are trying to find a verse where you know much of the text,
but don't know where the verse is. It greatly limits the verses displayed and
makes it easier to locate the verse that you want.
To run the program:
1. Type BSEARCH {\path}
The \path option allows you to specify a pathname for the directory
that contains the Bible text files.
If you omit the \path option, the current directory is used.
2. The program displays the names of all 66 books of the Bible in a box
on the top of the screen. Using the arrow keys, move the highlighted
bar to the book(s) that you want to include in your search, and press
the SPACE BAR to tag it. A small tag symbol will appear next to it.
Repeat this process for each book that is to be included in the search.
You can also use any of the CTRL characters (^G, ^A etc) listed below the
box to tag groups of books (Old Testament, Gospels, etc.). When you are
finished tagging books, press ESC to move on to the next step.
3. Next, you are prompted to enter the text string(s) that you want to search
for, separating them by commas. When you press ENTER, the search begins.
Options:
--------
At any point up to the start of the search you can change the CASE-
SENSITIVE search option by pressing ALT-O. A window will appear near the
center of the screen and you will be allowed to change any of the
displayed option settings.
If you are using the Public Domain Bible that is available on Compuserve,
you will also see a second option that you can change called "File
Extension". As of the creation of this document, the only extension
available is "KJV" (King James Version). If and when other Bible
translations become available, you will be able to use this option to
specify the appropriate file extension (i.e. "NIV" for New International
Version, or "NAS" for New American Standard").
Feel free to copy this program and/or upload it to BBS's as often as you like.
If you discover any bugs in the program, please let know me so that I can fix
them.

VERY IMPORTANT --- PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING !
Do you know for sure whether or not you are going to go to heaven when you die?
If you don't know for sure, you probably will not end up in heaven! You can
know for sure!
First, recognize that you are a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". (Rom 3:23)
Second, recognize that there is NOTHING that you can do to pay for your own
sins.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves.
It is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast" (Eph
2:8,9)
"...by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified..."
(Rom 3:20)
Third, receive Jesus Christ as your personal saviour by putting all of your
hope for eternal life in Him. That is, trust Christ and Christ ALONE to give
you eternal life as an absolutely FREE gift. It is that simple.
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)
"the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
(Rom 6:23b)
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"
(Acts 16:31)
