Community Building Activities
In addition to the ESS Project, GSFC HPCC personnel are also involved in efforts to build research and education communities in related areas. Current activities include a leading role in spurring the development of petaFLOPS (one thousand trillion floating-point operations per second) computers and coordination of a regional K-12 education project as part of NASA HPCC's Information Infrastructure Technology and Applications component.
