• On September 30 '96 Sony released a completed evaluation version of the Community Place VRML 2.0 browser.

  
  

• On September 6 '96 Sony Pictures Imageworks unveiled a series of special effects tutorials designed to help VRML authors advance the state of the art in real-time graphics on the 'net.

  
  

• On August 12 '96 Sony Pictures Imageworks made available new VRML multi-user worlds based on the Beta2 Community Place browser. These world files, including a Jumanji game board, Cyberspace Pinball and a model of our solar system, are based on those shown in the Digital Bayou at SIGGRAPH 96. Soon these VRML worlds will be available in an updated form compliant with the VRML 2.0 Draft#3 spec and Beta4+ of the Community Place browser.

  
  

• On August 4 '96 Sony will be showing the fully VRML 2.0 compliant Community Place version 2 Beta 4a browser and the VRML 2.0+ Bureau server in the Digital Bayou at SIGGRAPH '96 in New Orleans.
