       express concern.

  Q. Did you take advice from anyone in McDonald's whether or
not you should bring the last trash walk forwards?
       A. Yes, I did consult with the security department in head
       office and also my supervisor.

  Q. What was their advice?
       A. Their advice was it was too dangerous to expect someone
       to go out at night-time.

  Q. So, when does the last trash walk take place now?
       A. It would depend on the time of the year, normally after
       day-time has ended.

  Q. So at this time of year, the last one would be around about
       5 o'clock; mid-summer, it might be as late as 10 o'clock?
       A. Yes, they would still keep the outside of the store
clean but they would not go on a trash walk around the
       area.

  Q. I am going to ask you a little bit more about in-store
later on, but outside the store, in addition to trash
walks, are there any bins into which take-away or, indeed,
in-store customers can put environment/index.html">litter as they leave?
       A. Yes.

  Q. What sort of distance from the entrance to the store does
one find a bin or bins in the King Road?
       A. There is one immediately outside the restaurant which
is the width of the pavement and there are two to the
right-hand side of the restaurant approximately 30 to 40
       yards apart.

  Q. Does McDonald's have any association with or responsibility
       for those bins?
       A. Yes, the Local Council has a scheme where you can
sponsor a bin, and we have sponsored four bins on the Kings
       Road.

  Q. It has your logo or your name on it, has it?
       A. It has, yes, and it just asks the customers -----

  Q. How much does it cost to sponsor a bin in the Royal Borough
       of Kensington and Chelsea?
       A. For those four bins we pay £1200 a year.

  Q. That is year on year, it is £1200 a year, is it?
       A. Yes, I mean, we have the option to stop sponsoring them
but we have not; we have continued, so .....

  Q. If you withdrew your sponsorship of those bins would they
be replaced at public expense by the Local Authority, do
       you know?
       A. I am not sure on that point, but I believe that there
is no obligation on the Council to keep the bins there if
they are not sponsored. They may be sponsored by somebody
       else.

  Q. Does your dust cart have any commercial or advertising
