Day 071 - 11 Jan 95 - Page 18
full-time environment/index.html">litter person in Norwich; have you heard of that?
A. No, I have never been to Norwich before.

Q. Do you remember whether you saw this letter at the time
that it was sent or not?
A. Yes, I do.

Q. Has it occurred to you have a full-time environment/index.html">litter
person/rubbish collector whizzing around the local streets
all day long?
A. Not a full-time environment/index.html">litter person, no, but a system that
would ensure that it was done full-time.

Q. Do you think that your environment/index.html">litter patrols are adequate to deal
with the problem, by and large, exceptional circumstances
excluded, as it arises in your area?
A. By and large, yes.

Q. Can you quickly turn over the page to 781?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is what is at the very bottom of any
significance because that is very feint as well on page
781, Mr. Rampton?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it says G. Taylor, I think, Chairman of
Royal Hospital Ward Residents Association. I think it is
signed by him. One will see his name with greater clarity
later on in the documents, but I think that is all it
says. It does say "yours sincerely". Yes. I should not
have omitted that, certainly. 781 -----

MR. MORRIS: Could I just say that it seems to be a problem that
runs through quite a lot of the documents in this tab, that
the bottom part of it is unreadable. There were some
things I was looking at last night I could not read that
may be important, so maybe it is possible to ask the
Plaintiffs if they could get -- there is obviously
something wrong with the photocopier.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you got a list of page numbers where
that happens?

MR. MORRIS: I have not listed the page numbers.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, the only one where I have a problem is
the very last page of the file, 810, which I confess does
largely defeat me.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think before we go away this afternoon if
it can be arranged that you can flip through your copies
and identify the ones which you cannot read, and then we
will see if someone can provide you with better copies.

MR. MORRIS: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: If you look at page 781, Mr. Stump, apparently,
although we do not have it, Mr. Cobden replied to
Dr. Tailor's letter on 29th September (we do not have that
letter) and he now says on 3rd November: "Further to my
letter of 29th September 1990, I have now had the
