Day 074 - 16 Jan 95 - Page 06

  Q. You have told us that there is a Kentucky Fried Chicken and
a Pizza Hut in or around Barnet High Street; is that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do they generate any environment/index.html">litter?
       A. They certainly do.

  Q. Do have they trash walks or environment/index.html">litter patrols?
       A. No, we help them out actually; we do it for them.

  Q. They do not do it themselves?
       A. No, they do not.

  Q. When your people go out and pick up environment/index.html">litter, do they confine
themselves to McDonald's environment/index.html">litter or do they pick up
       everything they can?
       A. No, it is any environment/index.html">litter which they find on the map.

  Q. What method do they use to pick up environment/index.html">litter?
       A. It is -- they use a environment/index.html">litter picker and a sack but in
High Street, Kensington, we used to have a cart.

  Q. You used to have a cart?
       A. Yes. We used to have actually two carts in High
       Street, Kensington.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Two carts?
       A. Yes, sir.

MR. RAMPTON: As to volume of trade, compare, please, the
volume, only in rough terms not in money terms, the volume
at Kensington and the volume at Kings Road, which is the
busier at the stores, if either?
       A. High Street, Kensington.

  Q. By how much?
       A. It is almost 100 per cent increase because, if
I remember it correctly, it used to be around 250,000,
       around that mark.

  Q. 250,000 what?
       A. Pounds.

  Q. Pounds per?
       A. Per month. That is an average at High Street,
Kensington, and Kings Road was around 120, 125,000 a month.

  Q. Is that the reason why there were two dustcarts or environment/index.html">litter
carts at Kensington but not at Kings Road; is that right?
       A. That is correct, sir.

  Q. I think you started at Kings Road in April 1991?
       A. Yes, I did.

  Q. When did the store actually open?
       A. I opened the store.

  Q. You were the first manager at Kings Road?
       A. Yes, I was.
