would only be that sort of square.

  Q. What if, take a windy day in March or something like that,
there is a lot of environment/index.html">litter lying round actually on the
pavement, there is not time for a environment/index.html">litter patrol to go out,
would you do anything about that?
       A. Yes, it would be picked up by absolutely anyone.

  Q. Would the people who picked it up pick up only McDonald's
       environment/index.html">litter?
       A. No, all environment/index.html">litter in the front of the restaurant.

  Q. Was there any discrimination by you or your Assistant
Managers in who was sent on a environment/index.html">litter patrol?
       A. No.

  Q. Quite a lot of products in McDonald's restaurant,
Mr. Giardina, arrive in a frozen state, do they not?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. So they have to have freezers?
       A. Yes.

  Q. In those days, take hamburgers, were they wrapped up in a
       plastic carton or not?
       A. Yes, they were in a sealed cardboard container.

  Q. Cardboard?
       A. Yes, very thick cardboard.

  Q. Did you have any rules about handling boxes of produce?
       A. All the staff that were doing the deliveries were all
instructed, first of all, that there are gloves and jackets
available if they wished to use them and, secondly, not to
go to try lifting three, four, five boxes of meat in one
       go.

  Q. For the purpose of moving boxes -- some of which,
presumably, are quite heavy, are they?
       A. Some of them, yes.

  Q. Did you do anything to make sure that people, either older
people or people with bad backs or, perhaps, young women,
did not lift the heavy objects?
       A. Well, I was quite fortunate because I had a delivery
team, so it was the same people doing it three times a
week, so I only rarely had to get someone else to do it if
       one was on holiday.

  Q. this is for the purpose of receiving deliveries, is it?
       A. Yes, two or three people would receive the delivery,
count all the stock, rotate all the stock and then put it
       away.

  Q. I am sorry, I missed your answer. How often would that
       happen?
       A. Frozen deliveries in those days were about three days a
       week.

  Q. Meanwhile, of course, in the interim I suppose they do
