Day 185 - 07 Nov 95 - Page 08

  Q. But you would not know what happened to other people, would
you, apart from the people that you specifically saw at a
       specific time?
       A. Well, I mean, I talked to -- like, we talked to our
friends, not about the union, but I talked to my friends if
they have a good day at work or whatnot and they let me
know. Like, we just talk; we say so-and-so is going on at
       work. But -----

  Q. You cannot know what happens to other people?
       A. Right. I cannot know what happens to other people who
       I am not close to.

MR. MORRIS: Just in case, if anyone wants to check, it was in
schedule B, statement of material facts by the union --
I cannot actually remember which reference it was -- just
so that we know that I am not just making up the
       allegations.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Morris is in a difficulty: if he puts hearsay
allegations, then he cannot complain if he gets a hearsay
       answer. (Pause)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not bother to look it up. At the end of
the day I will have to see what admissible evidence there
is on one side or the other in relation to these matters.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. I have some further questions to ask, but
Ms. Steel is going to ask some.

MS. STEEL: Just one thing about Sarah Ingliss: was she in the
same year as you at school?
       A. No.

  Q. Was she at the same school, yes?
       A. She was at the same school. We only have one high
       school.

  Q. Was she older or younger than you?
       A. Younger.

  Q. Younger. Do you know whether she was a year below you or
       two years below you?
       A. I think she was only one.

MS. STEEL: Sorry, I cannot remember where the new statements
that were searched for the other day are.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They were at the back of yellow XIII -- do
not bother if it has come apart -- right at the back. Is
       it yellow XIII?

  THE WITNESS: Sorry?

MS. STEEL: I do not know whether you have your statement there,
       have you?
       A. Yes.

  Q. The statement that you have made for the purposes of this
court case, the long statement, was that based on this
