Day 185 - 07 Nov 95 - Page 19

talked to me, it was just me and the lawyers. That is it.

MR. MORRIS: What I am saying is, you were one of the main
       objecting employees, yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You and Chris Broom and maybe a couple of others, you were
the one of the main, but you did not have any meetings with
any of the lawyers once it all got underway, apart from
       over your own testimony?
       A. There was once where the lawyer, a lawyer, Roseanne
Angotti -- she is not even a lawyer, I do not think, she is
just like a secretary to a lawyer; I am not sure what her
position is -- she came over to my house and there were
people there, and she wanted to know, you know, what had
happened to us personally, but she went downstairs and used
the basement and we, my mother and, you know, my mother and
I, we stayed upstairs in the kitchen, and she was just
serving, like, coffee and tea and juice for anybody who was
there. That is the only one I can remember.

  Q. The point is these lawyers that were being instructed by
somebody else who was paying their wages, were they not?
       A. Well .....

  Q. They were not being instructed by you?
       A. Roseanne Angotti was not being paid by me, so she was
not being instructed by me. So whatever she did was
whatever, whoever was paying her, which I think it was
Cam. But I am not even sure who Roseanne was for, but
Mr. Pugsley, if he did anything, you know, I figure he
would be instructed by Chris Broom because Chris Broom
       was .....

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You do not know who instructed them, if
       I understood your evidence?
       A. No, I do not.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.
       A. Like not any of the other lawyers -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just leave it there.

MR. MORRIS: So, in fact, as you say, you did not even know the
terms of the agreement before the vote about what exactly
the employer had to do to put union material in the store
and all that kind of stuff. You said: "I did not know
anything about that, that was something" -----
       A. No, I did not know about that.

  Q. But that was done in your name because that was an
agreement between Service Employees International Union,
applicants, and Ballantyne Food Limited, McDonald's
Restaurants of Canada Limited and objecting employees, so
       really ---
       A. If they made -----

  Q. -- you were being manipulated by somebody who you do not
       know who was instructing ------
