Day 205 - 17 Jan 96 - Page 07

       A. No. I remember Mark Davis being Assistant Manager,
then becoming Manager, then becoming Area Manager. If you
want, I am not -- I could not put dates on it and I am not
really interested in when he became, you know. All I know
is that during my work when I was working at McDonald's
that I had a lot of dealing with Mark Davis, as Assistant
Manager, Manager or Area Manager, if you like. I have
already said that I am not sure about the dates.

MS. STEEL: OK, right. I have not got any more questions of
the witness, but there is one thing I do want to mention.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let Mr. Shafibeik leave the witness box.
       Thank you.

                       (The witness withdrew)

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes?

MS. STEEL: I do not really know whether it matters, but it is
just that I was just going to say if it was 1986 when
Vicky Golding had her accident -- well, actually, yes, it
may not help because she may have had more than one
accident anyway. I will leave it.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: If we are moving on to other things -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Shall we proceed with the interlocutory
matters then? There is no need for Mr. Shafibeik to stay.
Of course, if he is interested in staying, he is perfectly
       free to do so.

MR. MORRIS: The first thing, has everyone got the package which
I served earlier on? I hope so.

MR. RAMPTON: "Earlier on" means this morning, just before
your Lordship sat. I have got it, but I have not read it.

MR. MORRIS: And the list which I served last week, as well; it
       might be useful.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which topic do you want to deal with first?

MR. MORRIS: We might as well try to go through it in the order
on the list; it would probably be the most easiest way of
doing it. I am not sure how long Mr. Rampton's submission
on torture is going to last.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not know whether he has submissions to
make. You have to say something first before it is even in
       the field of play.

MR. MORRIS: If it is going to take all day, then it may we had
better leave it until after we have dealt with the others.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You see, I do not know what you want to say
about that. For all I know, Mr. Rampton does not either.
So it is difficult to estimate how long he wants to address
