Q. Were you instructed to take letters?
A. No.

Q. But you were not instructed not to?
A. No.

Q. Did you get told afterwards that you should not have taken
the letters?
A. No.

Q. Nobody said anything to you about it?
A. No.

Q. You gave them to Kings?
A. Yes.

Q. I think on 13th September 1990, they were dated.

MR. MORRIS: It is mentioned in your report of
13th September 1990.
A. Yes, yes.

MS. STEEL: So, once you had given them to Kings ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- did you ever hear anything about these letters again?
A. The letter; there was only one.

Q. The letter, sorry.
A. No.

Q. OK. This was just something you did of your own
initiative, was it?
A. I thought it would be useful as identification of a
member of the group.

Q. As what, sorry?
A. As a member -- a person who was a member of the group.

Q. What, the person who wrote the letter?
A. Yes, yes.

Q. I see. So, you thought that they were a member of the
group?
A. Yes.

Q. Was there some reason why you thought that?
A. I think, just from reading the first few lines, it
seemed as though it was relevant to McDonald's; and,
obviously, I assumed that the person who wrote it had
previous correspondence with the group in relation to
McDonald's, so it seemed relevant at the time.

Q. So, it was not actually because someone had said, "Here is
a letter from a member of the group", or anything like
that?
A. No.

MS. STEEL: Is it possible that we could have a break now, so
