Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 13
that we can look at these 17th May notes before we start
questioning?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. I have looked at it now, my Lord, and -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will break off until half past 11, so that
you can look at it. If you want more time, tell Mr. Riley.

MS. STEEL: Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have just looked at the beginning of
Mrs. Brinley-Codd's index. At the moment, Mr. Rampton,
I do not think it is necessary for me to have a new bundle,
provided I am just given the first page number of each of
the set of notes on the list. I am assuming that where two
sets of a particular note have been given but one is fuller
than the other, then the fuller one has been put in rather
than the more edited one.

MR. RAMPTON: They are both in; in all cases, they are both in,
in case anybody should want to make a comparison between
the fuller and the shorter version.

MS. STEEL: They are completely relevant.

MR. RAMPTON: There is one thing about this index, my Lord. It
is a thing that happens quite easily. Mrs. Brinley-Codd
has actually gone from page 170 to page 180 instead of to
171.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am disinclined to put back in the more
edited versions of the notes, when I have the fuller copies
of the notes in. So what would help me is if
Mrs. Brinley-Codd, or someone, could put the first page
number of the fuller note. So if, for instance -- I am not
suggesting it is so -- but, for instance,
15th February 1990, there is AC3 and 2; it may well be that
they are two versions of the notes.

MR. RAMPTON: They are, my Lord, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: All I want is the page number where the
fuller version begins.

MR. RAMPTON: The fuller version is always the first page
number, in any pair; the fuller version has been given put
into the file first. So, in that particular example, the
fuller version begins at page -- 15th February, page 18.
Mrs. Brinley-Codd will help you with that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. I will make it 25 to 12.

(Short Adjournment)

MS. STEEL: The general course of the London Greenpeace
meetings you have set out in your notes of 24th May.
Apparently, there is a blue file to the side of you which
has the notes in.
