Day 268 - 24 Jun 96 - Page 06
fair?
A. Perhaps that is what it was called on that -- that is
what it was referred to.

Q. Mr. Bishop refers to it as the London Greenpeace fair,
which is the correct title for it, and that had been
decided sort of six months previously or something like
that. Can you give any explanation?
A. Perhaps it was still referred to by one or two members
as that. I cannot recall.

Q. Well, it might have been though that you just assumed it
was an antiMcDonald's fair because there had been previous
ones?
A. I cannot recall. It may have been said that evening
or referred to as such that evening. I cannot remember
over such a period of time.

Q. You have got: "I may be asked to run video section of the
fair". But you agree that you may have actually
volunteered to do that?
A. I may have volunteered. My notes actually say I was
asked, so I would really rather rely on my notes.

Q. Right, but it may be that you said "I will do it" and then
somebody else said "okay, we will see if there is anyone
else who might want to do it"?
A. I really cannot recall. I mean, my notes say I may be
asked, not I volunteered to, but I cannot recall.

Q. Right. There is reference to "a demonstration on Saturday
the 4th August outside McDonald's 7 Sisters Road. Only 3
people. They also heard that ronald mcdonald was going to
be there the following Tuesday so they went back and handed
out more leaflets." You have not made a note of who "they"
is, but would you accept that it was people involved with
Hackney and Islington Animal Rights?
A. I do not recall. I have not made a note of who the
"they" was, so I do not recall.

Q. Right, but you would not have any information which would
enable you to say that it was not Hackney and Islington
Animal Rights people who were reporting on it?
A. No, that is correct.

Q. Right. It says as well there will be an antiMcDonald's
stall at the fair. I put it to you that was not true,
there certainly was not an antiMcDonald's stall and you
have just got that confused?
A. I am relying completely on my notes. If that is a
note that I made following that meeting, something must
have been said, or I would have gleaned that information
from that meeting.

Q. Right. You have got a lot of other stuff that is totally
irrelevant. So that presumably means it was not about
McDonald's?
A. It was not about the inquiry in hand, no.

Q. Right. I now want to go to the pages, they are the ones
