Day 268 - 24 Jun 96 - Page 07

that Mrs. Brinley-Codd copied for us last week, the notes
       of --

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The ones as the result of the discovery
       application?

MS. STEEL: I do not know. It is notes of 12th July, 1990.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: 12th July 1990?

  MS. STEEL: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not appear to have any of those at the
moment and they are not in the longhand index of notes
       either.

MS. STEEL: Well, maybe the easiest thing is if we pass up the
notebook to Mr. Claire and we can do it from there.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is the notebook there?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, there is not a note for 12th July 1990.
The notes I see -- that is very odd. For some reason it
seems to have been missed out of the copying exercise,
though it has been disclosed. (Same handed).
       A. Thank you.

MS. STEEL: This is a meeting at 5 Caledonian Road. "Jonathan is
present, also Jane and other bloke not seen before." Then
there is a description. "To start with, we just answered
       letters." Is that etc.?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "There are still lots and lots coming"?
       A. "From all over the world".

  Q. The edge of my page is cut off.
       A. It is "from all over the world".

  Q. Can you just read to the end?
       A. "Coming from all over the world, asking for
antiMcDonald's leaflets and literature. A lot from young
students but the letters vary from all ages and groups of
society". Do you want me to continue?

  Q. I can actually read the rest. But at this meeting you were
again answering letters including antiMcDonald's letters
       and sending out antiMcDonald's leaflets?
       A. If members of the group were answering or responding to
letters and I was present, yes, I would have had to have
       answered letters as well.

  Q. You actually say "we just answered letters."
       A. Yes, I would have answered letters.

  Q. Right. Reading on: "There was one letter..."
       A. "In particular from a man in the USA".

  Q. "Jack Norris in Cincinnati. He wrote to LG asking for
       literature, if there was any..."
