Day 270 - 28 Jun 96 - Page 10
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which date again?

MS. STEEL: 5th July.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, you have those, do you, Mrs. Tiller?
A. I have a copy of my handwritten notes with 5th July at
the top.

MS. STEEL: This was a meeting at Caledonian Road. The door was
answered by Jane, Jonathan was there, and a tall young man.
In the fourth paragraph you have said about Jonathan
having a telephone conversation with somebody, and that
"while the conversation was going on, Jane passed me the
agenda asking me if I wanted to add to it. It consisted of
(1) intros, (2) letters, (3) reports, (4) International
Mail Out, (5) fayre, (6), (7), (8) and (9) were left blank,
(10) was coming events and then there was 'pub'."

The first three and the last things from "coming events",
does that coincide with your recollection of what was
generally on the agenda as standard items?
A. Yes, I think so, yes.

Q. Then after this had been done I entered the meeting and
somebody called James as well and then somebody called
John.
A. Can I go back to your previous question? Just thinking
about it, there was not always an international mail-out
topic. Some of the -- obviously, there were different
items at different meetings.

Q. Yes.
A. But there were always introductions at the beginning
and usually there were some letters read out and reports
that people would give of activities that had transpired
between meetings or previous to that meeting.

Q. Right. If you can try and keep your voice up, please?
A. Sorry.

Q. You introduced yourself as Jan from Crystal Palace. One of
the letters appears to have been from somebody in New
Zealand about McDonald's over there.

Then on page 10 of your notes, it is actually page 3 --
sorry, page 10 of the bundle, page 3 of these notes, you
say, "The international mailing was then discussed and it
was decided not to undertake this due to costs but to
concentrate on a nationwide mailing, especially the London
area."

Do you remember that now or, you know, do you know whether
that is an accurate reflection of what was said?
A. I cannot remember that item very well specifically.
Having read my notes, I seem to remember some discussion
about the international mailing, but I really cannot
remember very much about it.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, can I say something? I do not mean to
interrupt the witness. As far as I am concerned, I am
