Day 270 - 28 Jun 96 - Page 13
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, "It was mentioned that Paul", from
there.

MS. STEEL: To the end of that paragraph?
A. Yes, to the best of my recollection. Yes, I seem to
remember that there was some discussion about whether or
not there were enough people to man the fayre.

Q. You said about this meeting, on the first page of these
notes, page 8 of the bundle, "The meeting commenced and
Jonathan led the proceedings and introduced himself in."
Then, later on, when Jonathan left you said on page 4 of
your notes that:

"The table had collapsed and everything had fallen on the
floor, and after everything had been restored to some state
of order the meeting resumed with Jane and Helen jointly
leading the proceedings. Jane was throughout the meeting
taking minutes in the large red book."

What do you mean by leading the proceedings or led the
proceedings?
A. Well, it is just that somebody had to sort of get it
going again. I do not mean actually that again there was a
sort of chairperson as such. It is just that they were
kicking it off, just getting it going.

Q. In the next paragraph you have got:

"Coming events were read out and several leaflets were
handed out for any interest, see attached."

You have got a leaflet about an international cast for the
peace trials, a non-violent summer camp in July 1990, and a
festival list for 1990, a Hopefield animal sanctuary
leaflet. That seems to be it. And then you say:

"It was decided, mainly by Jane, that a leaflet would be
written condemning the sponsors of the musical production
because the sponsors were Aerosols International and
Clark's Shoes."

What do you mean by it was decided mainly by Jane?
A. I feel that each individual sort of had their own
special interest and it seemed that this was one that Jane
was particularly interested in. She might have -- yes, it
seemed like that was her particular interest. I mean, not
everybody was interested in every issue that was under
discussion.

Q. Was this an unusual occurrence or was that --
A. That seemed pretty common really.

Q. So she just got on with it on her own?
A. Yes, basically. I think anybody who wanted to do
something just got on and did it, really. It did not
necessarily have to have involvement from everybody who was
there.

Q. Okay. If we go on to 19th July. This is on page 20 of the
