Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 11
want to see the case through, even though it is a
completely exhausting experience.

Q. When we have talked to -- when you have seen me talking to
other people about the case, or whatever, whether it is
journalists or campaigners, or whatever, have I encouraged
inaccuracies because it might damage McDonald's or have I
been concerned that what is published has been accurate and
true?
A. Both of us have always been concerned to make an effort
to ensure that everything that we say about McDonald's is
true.

Q. Have we encouraged other people to ensure that what they
say is accurate and true?
A. Yes.

Q. Just a little bit more about myself, then I will come on to
these inquiry agents' notes and have a look at just a few
of those; that might be the extent of my questioning.

You have talked about my general beliefs and concern
for accuracy, and my involvement in campaigns or whatever,
were you aware of my position as secretary of the Haringey
Unwaged Centre in the late 1980's?
A. Yes.

Q. Was that a centre which was committed to informing unwaged
and unemployed people in Haringey about their rights?
A. As far as I know, yes.

Q. Were you aware that I was treasurer of Haringey Allotment
Federation in the late 1980's?
A. Yes. Actually, I had forgotten about this, that as
well as myself having an allotment on my own in 1990/91, at
various times I have known Mr. Morris, I don't know, about
12 years or something like that, and we were both involved
in a group called Haringey Community Action and in the mid
80's that group had an allotment where the people in the
group used to grow vegetables and fruit. And later on in
the late 80's as well, I had an allotment with Mr. Morris
and some other people who were involved in local
activities, and I think it was at that stage that
Mr. Morris had the position with the Haringey Allotments
Federation or Association.

Q. No doubt you are aware of my heavy involvement with the
antipoll tax movement?
A. I was aware that you had a position in one of them, I
think the London-wide Poll Tax Federation -- I can't
remember the names of all the groups to be honest -- and
the Trafalgar Square Defendants Campaign.

Q. Right?
A. I mean, I was involved in the local antipoll tax group
and obviously I knew you from there that you came to the
meetings and talked about what had gone at the London-wide
meetings and some of the national meetings as well.

Q. Okay, if we move on to the inquiry agent's notes, actually
