I just checked out the MS Pinball Arcade page at: http://www.microsoft.com/games/pinball/default.htm
and the tables looks absolutely GREAT! (You almost expect to see cigarette burns on the case!)
These are sims of classic æelectro-mechanicalÆ tables where simple gravity is the driving force. They all exhibit a clear and open field of view; uncluttered by modern ramps, wire tubes, and multi-layers.
All you see is the great artwork, vivid colors, flashing lights and shadows. (I just hope they didnÆt forget the sounds of the bumpers and bells!)
For me, these types of tables are magical in their simplicity. They recall the simple fascination of an electric train under the Christmas tree. Of course I like Timeshock and The Web, (and I canÆt wait for BRUSA), but I know I will be spending a LOT of playtime on these æold-timersÆ.
