Here's a mini review.

I received my key code overnight after faxing my order. I've played a few times, and have already made it to the third table. Here are some details and opionions (based on the Windows version).

-- I've played on a generic Intel board P-133 and have had no speed problems.

-- The three tables are linked, so there's only one game to play. The first table is the main one where the missions are set up. The idea is that you build up your "strength" (protection, extra balls) while completing missions on the first table, and eventually reach a set of missions on the second table, and then return to the first. Then you build up to a set of missions on the third table (the best I've reached), and finally return for a timed multi-ball on the first table that ends the game (a nice idea that avoids the "letdown" of playing after achieving the main goal).

-- Table variety is nice. First table is cluttered with ramps on the side, yet wide open, with long shots up the middle. Second table features lots of ramps, multi-ball and jackpots, and is intended for high scoring while the player is "fat" with extra balls and shields. The third table has no kickbacks, and is closer to a classic design except for its odd flipper placement.

-- The difficulty is dissapointing, though the variety and design is still quite fun. I'm already close to "winning" after only a few plays. In this sense it's somewhat like Loony Labyrinth without the emphasis on multi-ball, and much more variety. But I don't think it will be as addictive as Crystal Caliburn.

-- The flippers are not as good as I had hoped. It is necessary to trap the ball constantly (which is generally quite easy) because of unpredictable rolls from the in-lanes. Shots are interesting, but the better gravity and larger table size seem to be the main physics improvements over previous LittleWing titles. The resolution and graphics cannot compare to "Timeshock!", though Golden Logres retains the fun and character of the previous LittleWing titles. Fan of the previous games will probably like it, but don't expect revolutionary improvements.

-- The old "fake LED" displays have been replaced by nice fonts and graphics, with some overlayed displays when "missions" are described. It's attractive, but not spectacular, and on the tables themselves it's rather difficult to see the details.

-- The sound is not particularly good, but the variety is OK once the music is turned off. The voice acting is a little goofy, but not too bad.

-- The PDF manual is nice, but the English very rough, in an often charming way. The pages containing the graphic layout of the second table are "buggy", at least for me, and will presumably be corrected. I've been able to learn enough details to sort out what's going on in the game, but am still learning. There isn't much technical documentation, but the game isn't very hard to figure out.

-- It's possible to practice (timed, I think) on the last two tables, and also possible to save games (restored games aren't eligible for high scores), which would allow another way to "practice" on the later tables, I would think.

-- I've registered my high scores on the web page, and hope they start posting them soon and awarding neat prizes! I've snooped around on the Japanese high score page, and it looks like there may be a separate "tournament mode" with limited extra balls, that would make the game more of a challenge for strong players. I haven't seen any hint of that in the English internet version (but it's only been out for 2 days...).
