Jan Oberbek was born in Lodz and completed the Music Secondary School under the direction of K.Sosinski, then studied guitar playing at the High School of Music in Lodz.

Jan oberbek has won many prizes, including th 1st and 2nd All-Poland Guitar Competitions and has given concerts in many countries.
