Authenticity
Policy |
It is our policy to deal directly with Aboriginal communities. Many of
these are remote communities in the outback of Australia, now for the
first time able to display their creativity and culture to the world through
the shop window that is the Aboriginal Australia web site. You can be
confident that each item for sale through the Aboriginal Australia web
site represented to be from a particular Aboriginal community has the
origin we attribute to it.
We are not
yet able to guarantee "authenticity", since we believe that the term implies
not only geographical veracity but also cultural authenticity. With over
one hundred active and diverse Aboriginal cultures in Australia at one
time or other the assertion of cultural ownership
is a contentious issue among the various Aboriginal communities and the
bodies that represent them. Aboriginal Australia is committed to using
its resources to help the Aboriginal communities to reach a concensus
on this complicated issue.

service assistance, and improve the content of our site so that we may
better meet your needs.
In the future
we may use your account information to provide you with details of special
offers, products or services offered by Aboriginal Australia or our web
site partners. You may choose not to receive this information by sending
us an email at the following address and we will honour your request:

rent or sell the information concerning our customers to third parties.

Australia may release customer information when we believe, in good faith,
that such release is reasonably necessary to comply with the law; enforce
or apply the terms of any of our user agreements; or protect the rights,
property or safety of our employees, our users or others.
What if we
change our policy? If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will
post these changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information
we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it

Pricing
Policy |
Our policy is to be keenly competitive on the price of our mass produced
products (books, CDs, T-shirts etc.). We will work with our creative artists
and crafts people to offer the widest possible range of unique Aboriginal
art, craft and cultural products at a fair price to our customers, and
a fair return to our suppliers.
Our standard
commission to those Aboriginal communities that allow us to offer their
art and craft items for sale is ten percent (10%) of the retail price.
The other ninety per cent (90%) of the price you pay goes back to the
community.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRADE: SHOP |
Currency
Conversion Disclaimer |
All amounts, including prices, displayed in any currency other than the
default currency are indicative only. The currency converter gives you
a close idea of the price in a currency selected by you, but is not the
exact price that applies. For example, if you purchase an item by credit
car, the price shown on your credit card statement will be determined
by your bank of credit card company according to their rules. Your card
will actually be charged in the default currency regardless of the currency
that you select to view the prices in, and it may not be exactly the same
as the indicative price shown on this web site. Some banks and credit
card companies charge a fee for currency conversion. Also, some banks
and credit card companies do not process a currency transaction on the
same day that the transaction takes place, so if the excahnge rate changes
in that time, the price charded to you may go up or down.
