All the SurfinCheck Servers that are working under the same Security Policy and that are controlled by this SurfinConsole, are listed in the Devices Tree box within the Devices window.
To configure any specific device:
Element | Description |
Console Verbosity | Specifies the detail level of the events reported in the SurfinCheck Server display screen. |
Log Verbosity | Specifies the detail level of the events written in the SurfinCheck Server log file. |
Max Log File Size | Defines the maximum size of the log. (When the log file exceeds this level, the log begins to wrap and oldest events are deleted.) |
Database Name | Specifies the database name. (Should be FinjanDatabase) |
Console Port | Specifies the port number of the SurfinConsole machine. |
To configure the proxy settings, press the Proxy Settings tab.
Element | Description |
Max Connections | Specifies the maximum number of clients that will send requests simultaneously. Beyond this number, clients will be denied requests. |
Next proxy | Allows you to specify the IP address of the host of the next Proxy. (This field should be left empty if there is no Proxy device on the gateway.) |
Port | Allows you to specify the port number used in order to connect with the next proxy or Firewall. |
Device port | The port number through which other gateway devices and the browser communicate their HTTP requests to the selected SurfinCheck Server. |
IP Forwarding | If the selected SurfinCheck Server forwards the http request to another gateway device that relies on the presence of the IP address, you should check this box. The selected SurfinCheck Server will send http requests with the original IP of the end user, rather than those of its own IP address. |
The SurfinConsole Setup window allows you to configure the database settings and the SurfinConsole log display.
To configure SurfinConsole, press the Setup icon on the SurfinConsole toolbar.
Database settings: Normally, you should not need to modify this area, unless your setting was corrupted. The Name field should specify SFGDatabase and the Subprotocol should be odbc.
Log: You can set the maximum
number of lines that will be displayed in the log. The Refresh
Rate field lets you specify the rate at which the log will refresh
the data from the database. (The refresh rate is specified in
milliseconds.)
