Choose Strategy
Depending on your software and how you use your PC, you will have several options from which to choose. It is a good idea to select your strategy on the basis of how critical your PC is to you, your household, or your business. For example, if you only use your PC to play games, it is unlikely that your PC is critical to your functioning.
Some strategies from which you may choose:
- No action at all. You might choose this option if year 2000 issues will not affect you or if the effect will be unimportant.
- Installation of a year 2000 software update. You might choose this option if the year 2000 issues will affect you and an update is available. Updates are often available even for relatively new software productsùWindows 98, for exampleùto enhance their year 2000 readiness.
- Installation of an upgrade to a newer software product. You might choose this option if year 2000 issues will affect you but you are using a product for which no update is available.
Implement
