Hosts INI File

The Hosts.ini file provides a method for low-level security in network rendering. Specific IP addresses can be added to the file to allow only those machines to be used in the 3DS MAX network rendering farm.

Reference

There are two options for the Hosts.ini file:

To add specific IP addresses to the Hosts.ini file, type them below the last line of the file and remove or comment out the default * (asterisk) character. Any computer that does not fit the specified IP address will be labeled as an Untrusted Host, and will not be allowed to be used in the network rendering farm. This applies to both servers and managers.

Here is an example of the file:

#--------------------------------

# 3DS MAX Trusted Hosts Database

#

# List here host IP addresses allowed to

# connect to the network rendering manager.

#

# A single start ('*') means no restrictions

# are enforced (the default).

#

# Any number of IP addresses can be entered. One

# per line.

#

# e.g.:

#

#192.200.100.1

#192.200.100.2
