Gremlin Graphics and Monty Mole. Two synonymous phrases for gamers (between 1984 & 1987 anyway). After the success of the third game, Monty On The Run, with its great Hubbard soundtrack (him again), Gremlin wanted him to be involved with the music for the sequel, "Auf Wiedersehen Monty" and so teamed him up with fellow musician, Ben Daglish (who was doing a lot of Gremlin soundtracks at the time) and did the main theme together.
The slightly sombre opening gave way to a quite funky tune to bop to,
which suited the game very well with our hero Monty going around Europe (hence the other
in game tunelets being anthems or songs associated with the nation in question). There is
a really nice sliding main voice around three minutes in, too..
