System Requirements
Below you'll find the system requirements for Microsoft MapPoint™ 2001.
To use the business mapping features in MapPoint 2001, you need:
| Computer with a Pentium 90-megahertz (MHz) or higher processor
| | Microsoft Windows® 95 or later operating system, or Microsoft Windows NT® Workstation operating system version 4.0 or later with Service Pack 3 or later
| | 20 megabytes (MB) of RAM for Windows 95 or Windows 98; 36 MB of RAM for Windows NT Workstation version 4.0 or later
| | 185 MB to 240 MB of available hard-disk space (Your hard-disk usage will vary depending on configuration; 240 MB required if Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or later is not already installed and Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 are not already installed.)
| | Quad-speed or faster CD-ROM drive
| | Super VGA, 256-color monitor supporting 640 x 480 or higher resolution
| | Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse®, or compatible pointing device

Additional items or services required to use certain features:
| Internet Explorer 3.02 or later required (Internet Explorer 5.01 included); users can maintain other default browsers after installation
| | 9600-baud modem; 14,400- or higher-baud modem recommended
| | Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Exchange Server, or other MAPI-compliant messaging software required to use Send To
| | Some Internet functionality may require Internet access and payment of a separate fee to a service provider, and local charges may apply
| | Integrating data into Office programs requires the versions of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft FrontPage®, Microsoft Outlook®, Microsoft PowerPoint®, Microsoft Publisher, or Microsoft Word included in Office 97 or Office 2000
| | Integrating data from Office programs requires the versions of Access, Excel, and Outlook included in Office 97 or Office 2000 or Microsoft SQL Server™ 6.5 or later
| | Global Positioning Services (GPS) functionality requires a GPS device that supports National Marine Electronics Association
