Hardware and Software Requirements

To install and run Sapphire/Web, the following hardware and software are required:

1. A SGI running IRIX 5.3 or higher

2. A hard disk drive with 30 megabytes of free disk space

3. The X Window System (preferably X11R5)

4. One of the following RDBMS

Sybase 4.9.x
Sybase System 10
Sybase System 11
Oracle 7.x (SQL*Net 1 & 2)
Informix 6.x On-line Dynamic Server
Informix 7.x On-line Dynamic Server

5. An HTML browser that supports HTML 2.0 or greater

6. A configured HTTP server that supports HTTP 1.0 and CGI 1.0/1.1

7. A C or C++ compiler
