Installation Checklist

: · Copy, uncompress and extract the Sapphire/Web distribution.
: · Run the sapphire_home/Install script.
: · Configure the Default Tool Options file sapphire_home/config/Sapphire.cfg.
: · If you will not be using Netscape Navigator, modify the sapphire_home/bin/sabrowser.sh script.
: · Set the environment variables specific to the database(s) you will be using with Sapphire/Web.
: · Start Sapphire/Gateway on the necessary machine(s).
: · Set the environment variable SAPPHIRE to the directory in which Sapphire/Web is installed.
: · Add the directory $SAPPHIRE/bin to your path.
: · Make a directory named dsql, in which Sapphire/Web will locate Data Objects.
: · Set the environment variable DSQLDIR to the directory in which Sapphire/Web will locate Data Objects.
: · Set the environment variable ORB_HOST to the host running the Sapphire/Gateway daemon. If it is the same machine on which you will start the tool, this step may be skipped.
: · Start Sapphire/Web by typing saweb &.
