INSTALLATION GUIDE
Windows for Workgroups Ver.3.11 NDIS 3.0 Driver
for EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter

This installation guide provides the following instructions:
- Using QStart to transfer Windows for Workgroups Ver.3.11
NDIS driver files from the Kingston Driver Diskette to the
destination directory.
- Installing the Windows for Workgroups Ver.3.11 NDIS driver.
Copying the Driver files:
When you use the Generic or Custom install options in QStart, the
files associated with network operating system environment you choose
will be displayed on the screen and copied to the default destination
directory (A:\NDIS3); unless you specify otherwise.
The configuration of Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet adapter is shown
in the Custom install window. You can manually change the current
configuration if desired. The default hardware settings for the EtheRx
adapter are:
IRQ (INT) = 3
I/O address (PORT) = 300
Note: You may need this information in order to install the driver.
After the files are copied to the destination directory, you will
need to perform the procedure outlined in the next section to install
the driver.
Driver Installation Procedure:
This installation procedure assumes Windows for Workgroups 3.11 is
properly installed on your computer and that no network driver is
currently installed.
1. Make sure the EtheRx LC ISA adapter is properly installed in
your computer.
2. Once the adapter is installed, turn your computer on and start
Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
3. Choose the 'Network Setup' icon from the 'Network' group.
4. From the "Network Setup" dialog box, choose 'Drivers'.
5. From the "Network Driver" dialog box, choose 'Add Adapter'.
6. Select 'Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter' from the Adapter
list.
7. The program will prompt you to insert the driver diskette and
enter the path of the driver directory. Insert the Kingston
Driver diskette into your floppy drive. Enter the default
destination directory, A:\NDIS2; if you changed the default
directory name when you ran QStart, enter the new directory
name and click OK.
8. The 'Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter' will appear in
the list of adapters; select it, then choose OK.
9. Specify the hardware configuration for your Kingston EtheRx LC
ISA Ethernet Adapter.
10. The 'Kingston EtheRx LC ISA Ethernet Adapter [NDIS3/NDIS2]'
message appears, it indicates the NDIS driver has been copied
into your Windows directory.
11. In the "Network Driver" dialog box, choose 'Close'.
12. In the "Network Setup" dialog box, choose 'OK'.
13. Windows prompts you to insert several WFW system diskettes.
14. When message 'Windows Setup has modified your SYSTEM.INI and
PROTOCOL.INI' appears, choose 'OK'.
15. When the "Restart" dialog box appears, choose 'Restart
Computer'.
16. The installation procedure is now complete.
