BY ANDY JOHN MORGAN OF NEBULA ENTERTAINMENT
This months review is another Science Fiction Film. A lot of you have
probably seen this film already and don't really need this review, but TOUGH
I'm doing it anyway!
R E V I E W
Film name: Steel Dawn
Film type: Science Fiction
BBFC Cert: 18
The story is set in the future (as always!) where most of the desolate land
is sand, and where people travel by Wind carts. Patrick Swayze stars as
Nomad, a lone Ex-soldier who through the death of a friend, takes on a simple
job on a small farm. The farm itself hides an underground water spring which
he helps to protect from the self-appointed law man, Damnil (Anthony Zerbe)
and his hired assasin Sho (Christopher Neame).
R A T I N G
The above description may be a bit short, but be assured this film shows
off the REAL-LIFE martial arts talent of Patrick Swayze. Also, for us lads
watch out for the farms boss Kasha (Lisa Nieme). Where do film makers
find these chicks? She is gorgeous!
Brion James is also in this film as Tark, the farm foreman. This great
actor is in everything. Previous films include Red Scorpion, Enemy Mine
and the classic, Blade Runner.
Christopher Neame makes a great assasin in this film. Even though the
character is big-headed nasty man, he looks pretty cool, and he gives
Swayze a hard time with his two swords and a small nasty 'Knee' knife!
Even though the story is pretty basic, a load of action and slight bit of
romance make this a great film. I would say it's almost a 'classic' but
not quite! Then again, this is only my opinion!
Total rating: 92% (A Great Film!)
Next month a review of the CLASSIC 'I bought a Vampire Motorcycle'.
