Known 3D card issues:
=====================
If you encounter problems with your display in game or the game will not work when trying to race a track then you probably need to make sure that you have the latest DX6 compatible drivers installed.
3Dfx Voodoo 2:
--------------
If you encounter a problem with objects popping into view very close to you and objects in the distance not being textured then you need to install the latest drivers from your card manufacturer which are based on version 2.17 or later of the reference drivers.
3Dfx Voodoo Graphics:
---------------------
There have been some instances of palette corruption on the games loading screens when using a Voodoo Graphics board with ATI Rage II based boards and Permedia II based boards.
No other problems using latest reference drivers ver 2.16 and other card drivers based on these.
3Dfx Voodoo Rush:
-----------------
It seems that the current Voodoo Rush drivers do not like being shut down and restarted many times in succession. This results in the display becoming very corrupted and unplayable. This will hopefully be fixed in a patch, but until then make sure you restart the game after every few races and save the game often in championship.
No other problems using latest reference drivers ver 2.15 and other card drivers based on these.
3D Labs Permedia 2:
-------------------
No problems using the latest reference drivers ver 2105-0356 and card manufacturers drivers based on these.
ATI Rage Pro:
-------------
No Problems using the latest drivers ver 4.10.01.2411
ATI Rage II/II+
---------------
This card will only support 320*240 and 512*384 with Low Texture quality on a 4Mb card this is due to the card using 16bit textures.
No problems using the latest drivers ver 4.10.01.2420
Matrox MGA 1064/1164/2164 (Mystique/Millenium II based boards)
2Mb cards will only support low res 320*240, 4Mb cards will allow 320*240 and 512*384, 8Mb cards will allow all resolutions.
No Problems using the Matrox 3.82 drivers, front end menus run slowly with latest Matrox drivers ver 4.11
Matrox G100
-----------
The G100 setting should be used with driver ver 4.11, otherwise all the objects on the tracks as well as the car become stippled. The problem is that the Matrox G100 is reporting to DirectX that it can do alpha transparency.
This is a simple driver issue, should Matrox fix this problem then the default setting should be used.
No other problems using driver version 4.11
Matrox G200
-----------
No problems using the latest drivers ver 4.11
NVIDIA RIVA 128
---------------
Trackside objects are not filtered and Car Effects are set to off as default, this is due to the fact that this card is slow at copying textures upto video memory.
Some textureson the roadside hoardings are warped.
Should users have a RIVA TNT card then it is advised that you select the default setting.
Please use your card manufacturers latest drivers.
Rendition V1000
---------------
The stage indicator is only half filled horizontally with colour.
Only supports 320*240 and 512*384 resolutions with Low Texture quality due to it using 16bit textures.
Please use your manufacturers latest drivers.
Rendition V2xxx
---------------
Yellow broken line around the tyres on the cars where the textures join and also on the steering wheel in-car.
All in-game text is slightly corrupted on these cards.
Only supports 320*240 and 512*384 resolutions on 4Mb cards with Low Texture quality due to it using 16bit textures.
Please use your manufacturers latest drivers.
S3 Virge
--------
Transparency produces a stippled effect which is a driver bug. The transparent pixels write to the Z-buffer which means parts of objects disappear if they go behind textures.
Central join line between textures down the middle of the tracks.
When alt-tabbing in and out of the game The graphics often become untextured and look corrupted. This is a driver problem with the S3 Virge drivers.
Only supports Low Res 320*240 with Low Texture quality due to it using 16bit textures.
No other problems using DX6 drivers
Videologic/NEC PowerVR PCX2
---------------------------
There is a vertical join line where the textures meet on the horizon.
Transparency on tree sheets still not working correctly resulting in join lines and speckles where the textures end.
The wheels on the cars look very square, this seems to be due to the colourkeying only partially working.
Still some problems with transparent polys on the car on the Indonesian stages.
Black borders on 2 player split and transparency not working correctly on Pause Menu - PowerVR stores up renderstates until the end of a scene, therfore it cannot handle multiple begin/endscenes.
Only supports low res 320*240 with Low Texture quality due to it using 16bit textures also there is no shadow or kick-up on the car.
No other problems using latest drivers ver 4.1.1
General Card Issues
-------------------
Cards which do not support Additive Transparency will not display lens flare.

Video Issues
============
The video player in the game uses multimedia components which are part of MS Internet Explorer 4. These
components are installed by the game using the Microsoft redistributable executable 'dxmedia.exe', although we have found that in some cases the installation can fail. If the video at the beginning of the game fails to play, you don't have IE4 and the 'dxmedia.exe' has failed to install the components. This can be fixed if Microsoft release an update to the redistributable 'dxmedia.exe' which you should download and run.

Known control issues:
* Some PC keyboards can't recognize certain combinations of 3 or more
simultaneously pressed keys.

==================
Performance Issues
==================
If your game is running slowly or is jerky then lower the detail and resolutions settings to a minimum.
Then alter the setings one at a time to find the settings which best suit you.
Also make sure that no other processes are running in the background as this can have an adverse affect on the running of the
program.
